There aren’t many places that meet these criteria. In fact, he whittled the list down to eight spots.

When it comes to places to visit in Riau Islands, most people think of Batam and Bintan Islands. If you want a truly exciting and unique retreat that doesn’t seem too far from Singapore, then you should check out Telunas Private Island.
Delunas is a small resort located on a small private island in Suki Island. It’s 50 kilometers south of Singapore, but when you’re here, you’ll forget Singapore even exists. This small island has only 15 overwater villas along the beach and 5 semi-detached villas in the mountains. However, it’s so close to the main island that you don’t have to!

How to get to Delunas from Singapore: Take a ferry from Harbourfront Center to Secubang, then take a local ferry from Secubang to Delunas Private Island.
Best time to visit Telunas: October to April has the best weather and December to February when the water is usually clear.
Niki Island is a small island located east of Bintan Island. The environment of the island can be walked within 20 minutes. Clear blue water, white sandy beaches, clean service on the island – all are sure to be a great experience from start to finish.
How to get to Niki from Singapore: Take a ferry from Tanah Mera Ferry Terminal to Benton Telani Port, then take a private car and small boat to Niki Island.
Weekend Getaways Bangalore
Bintan is one of the largest islands in Indonesia’s Riau Island Province. For Singaporeans, Bintan is known for its high-end resorts and easy travel from Singapore. The island is just an hour’s boat ride from Singapore and you’re on your way to a beach vacation!

Travel time from Singapore to Bintan: 3.5-5.5 hours door to door from Singapore, depending on where you want to stay in Bintan.
Favorite Drivable Weekend Getaways From Wichita With Kids
Padam is a very popular day trip from Singapore. Closer to Singapore, you can see the Singapore skyline when you are north of Batam. Unlike the neighboring island of Bintan, Batam is famous for its dining and shopping. However, it also has beautiful resorts.
How to get to Batam from Singapore: Take a ferry from Harbourfront Center to Nongchapura or Batam Centre.
Travel time from Singapore: 3-4 hours door to door from Singapore depending on where you stay in Batam.
Juyo is a small private island in Bintan Island, Indonesia. Accommodation at Joyo is designed to be shared, so it’s best to go as a group. In fact, the entire island can be booked! Joyo Island can accommodate up to 45 people at a time. I went to Joyo as part of a group of about 20 people and we had a blast. We had many islands.

Desaru was Malaysia’s famous coastal road easily accessible from Singapore. I visited Desaro in 2010 and it was an average place then. However, in 2019, the town saw a revival with the opening of four new resorts along Desaru Beach, giving it a new appeal.

In my early 20s, I used to go to Rawa with a group of friends. Best time to visit Rawa: Rawa is affected by Monsoon. Although the resort is open throughout the year, the best time is from March to October.
Malacca is a popular holiday destination in Singapore due to its proximity to the Singapore-Malaysia border. It is so close to Singapore that it can even be done as a day trip. We went by bus in the morning and came back at night, but I was in a bit of a hurry.

Dyuman is known for diving, especially for new certifications. The waters around Dioman are crystal clear and there are many places for diving. I personally did my PADI open water and advanced certifications in Tioman and have been to the island twice since then. If you’re not a diver – there are plenty of activities in Tioman such as scuba diving and cycling around the island.
